Location
The Rey Don Jaime hotel, an award winning and outstanding hotel in the family friendly resort of Santa Ponsa in the south of Majorca. The hotel belongs to the Rosu Group of hotels whose owners are proud to be part of the elite few who started operating when tourism first came to the island. The hotel has recently finished a major ground floor refurbishment leaving an impressive and upmarket atmosphere from the moment you check in, the chic reception area gives a feeling of space and refinement, far superior of a three star hotel. Santa Ponsa is very much a family resort about 30 kilometres from Palma Airport. There is a fabulous beach in the resort centre which is very family friendly with charming shops, cafes, restaurants and bars backing onto it. For the more energetic there are some great walks from the hotel into the pine wooded hills and to the Marina area of Santa Ponsa, about 2 miles away.

The Hotel Rey Don Jaime has made an asserted effort into adapting the hotel with various facilities. Should guests require special assistance in the hotel then the management and staff will do their very best to help ensure that any client feels welcome and comfortable during their stay. Accessible facilities include: 5 bedrooms have an adapted bathroom which have been recently renovated with a wheel-in shower and grab rails for the toilet; a designated lift for wheelchair users easily accessible to all floor; disabled toilet on ground floor near to restaurant/swimming pool and bar areas; a wide ramp at the main hotel entrance; private telephone booths with pay phones at a reduced height for easy and comfortable use; hydraulic chair lifts in both indoor and outdoor swimming pools; life guard on duty in the outdoor pool for the duration of the summer season; easy access to all public areas, restaurant, swimming pool, pub, bar and outside entertainments; English speaking medical service available (please speak to reception) and a fridge available in reception for the safe keeping of any medicines during guests stay. The beach is only a very short distance away and the flat surface is ideal for all wheelchair users or people with walking difficulties. A static shower chair is supplied.

There are 417 rooms distributed over five floors. The air conditioned rooms are beautifully finished with soft furnishings in a mellow gold with rustic bedroom furniture giving a homely feel. Fitted wardrobes with a safe(local charge) are available in all rooms. Satellite TV is available should guests wish to spend time in their room, a remote control is available from reception and requires a deposit but this is returned on a satisfactory check out. Tea and coffee making facilities as well as a fridge are also available for hire(local charge). Naturally each room has its own bathroom with bath/shower and w.c and a hairdryer. All rooms have a furnished balcony with table and chairs, an ideal setting to enjoy the morning and evening sunshine.

The hotel’s lagoon-shaped pool is the place to be. Surrounded by a large palm-dotted terrace, it’s a great spot have a lazy day. There is also a small sun terrace available for any guests who would prefer a little bit of privacy. For anybody wishing to take a break from the sun there is also a relaxing heated indoor swimming pool with sun beds, toilet and showering facilities. Weather permitting all evening entertainment is outside but if not then the hotel boasts a large lounge bar complete with a small stage so that the show goes on. The lounge is also a great place to spend time over pre dinner aperitifs or an after dinner brandy or two and stays open until midnight, as with all public areas the lounge area has been completely refurbished with the emphasis on space and relaxation.

There are wide screen televisions for any major sports or events that are taking place and background music normally
