Location
The Hotel Vulcano has bagged itself a great spot on Tenerife's south coast. It is only 300 metres from the beach and close to the hub of shopping and entertainment. Having said that, this modern hotel is tucked away from the biz of Playa De Las Americas, making it a quiet and peaceful holiday. The hotel itself is pretty impressive. It's spacious, smart and the friendly atmosphere is evident from the moment you check in.
In the lobby, they've brought the outdoors indoors. A massive atrium fills the marble-floored space with light. Plants, trees and fountains give a garden feel. The wicker furniture wouldn't look out of place in a conservatory. It's like being in a big botanical garden.
Access
Good access in and around the hotel. The surrounding area is fairly flat and there are some good drop kerbs. The pool has a hoist. Accessible excursions operate several days a week and include an Island Tour, Mount Teide Volcano and Loro Parque. We strongly recommend advanced booking of these excursions.
Accommodation
The 371 bedrooms are modern, light and airy – and they certainly don't scrimp on the space. Everything about them is cosy - from the sink-into armchairs to the terracotta and cream colour scheme.
Facilities
It's the pool area that deserves special mention at this hotel. There are two rectangular swimming pools sunk into a sizeable sun terrace and come complete with an island of palm trees and a small waterfall. There's a poolside bar where you can order a cocktail to cool off. There's even a complimentary bath robe and pool towel, if you wish!
There's also card tables, squash, mini golf, French boules, table tennis, two bars and a unisex hairdressers, as well as a brilliant programme of evening entertainment from an array of international artists. There's tennis court at nearby sister Hotel Bitacora with equipment for hire.
Admire the exotic plants and impressive atrium in the lounge area, or enjoy dinner in the restaurant overlooking the cascade or the swimming pool.
